Samuel has accumulated over 13 years’ experiences in teaching, research and consultancies in Spatial/Urban/Regional Planning, Land Surveying and GIS/ Geo-information in Kenya, Rwanda and Somali. While currently finalizing a PhD studies in Spatial Planning at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, he holds Master’s degree in (Urban and Regional) Planning and Bachelor of Science in Surveying (honours)  from the University of Nairobi. He has published a number of papers in a referred journal and presented in a number of papers at international conferences in areas of Devolution and Healthcare Planning; Rural Transport; Environment; and GIS/ Geoinformation. He has served in National Government and Private Practice as Spatial/Urban Planner, Land Surveyor and GIS Analyst/Mapping Expert; in academia as lecturer, researcher and consultant; and in humanitarian work as refugee camp settlement planner and assistant project coordinator- implementing a number of donor funded projects by USAID, SIDA, UNHCR, GTZ (now GIZ), ACT and USA (PRM). He has also served in various capacities in consultancy work as Training facilitator/Trainer, Urban Planner, Settlement Planner, Team Leader, Surveyor and GIS/Mapping Expert in County Spatial Planning; Development of Local Urban Development Plans, Campus Master Plan, Street Addressing in Cities, IDP/Refugee Camp Layout Planning, Training in physical/Spatial/Master Planning and GIS Mapping Projects. Samuel is a member of various planning associations in Kenya, namely, Town and County Planners Association of Kenya (TCPAK) where he serves as Chair of Kisumu County Branch; The Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP), and Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK-Town Planning Chapter). In addition, he possesses requisite personal and inter-personal attributes for work delivery: humble with high level of interpersonal skills; keen on knowledge generation, sharing and learning from others; teamwork; analytical and strategic thinker; high determination to achievement; and keen on details
