Dr.Samuel Liyala has more than 15 years experience in Academia. Dr. Liyala has also worked within Social Digital Innovation. Considerable amount of this time was focused on research and advocacy, particularly looking to make all voices count. Dr. Liyala has focused on the design, implementation and evaluation of digital innovations and development policies in developing spaces. Much of this work has sort to understand place of technology within under- developed areas so as to support organizations to re-examine their role and formulate a new vision and institute changes to improve their effectiveness in contributing to development impact. Dr. Liyala has served as a lecture and a researcher at De Montfort University, United Kingdom. Currently, he is a senior lecturer and the Head of Information Systems department within the School of Informatics and Innovative Systems in Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. His recent consultancy engagement focused on mobile money uptake among the marginalised groups in Homa Bay. Currently Dr. Liyala is working on an evaluative framework that is result based and tailored to the specific initiative and organisation context.
