Dr. Mary Orinda is a seasoned socio-economist and agribusiness specialist, specializing in Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Economics, Food Security, and Rural Development. With extensive experience in agricultural technology adoption, value chain analysis, and production efficiency, she has led multiple research and development projects aimed at improving smallholder farmer livelihoods through innovation-driven solutions.With a background in international NGOs, including the European Committee for Training and Agriculture, she has been instrumental in supporting rural communities to develop viable income-generating activities. Her expertise spans agripreneurship, value chain optimization, and MSME capacity building, having worked on donor-funded projects such as the KCB Tujiajiri Programme, Entrepreneurship in Agriculture, and Chicken Value Chain Productivity Improvement in partnership with World Bank, KCB Foundation, and Agripreneurship Alliance. She is also serving as the Innovation Champion at JOOUST having been trained by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Kenya Innovation Agency (KENIA), she actively mentor students in business development and agripreneurship while driving market access strategies, stakeholder linkages, and enterprise sustainability initiatives within the agricultural sector.
