Erick Okuto is an associate professor of Biostatistics and works  in the Department of Applied Statistics, Jaramogi oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. In addition, Erick is the Associate Director, Resource Mobilization in the university. As a Director, he coordinates professional short courses training; Data analytics and statistical reporting in addition to making statistical resources and learning available; Facilitates external/industrial research collaborations, partnerships, linkages and consultancies; Coordinates survey data collection and repositories using mobile technologies powered by online servers among others. He is an advanced Open Data Kit (ODK), R, Python, GIS and statistical programmer both locally and internationally. Between 2012and 2016, Dr. Okuto researched extensively on the inter-comparison of Earth based vegetation index records both globally and locally validating with leaf area index (LAI). He has successfully been able to implement Spatiotemporal Bayesian Statistical procedures in his area at global scale with R. He was a Research Fellow and global R Programmer at the World Agroforestry Centre - ICRAF between 2012 and 2016. He is a member of International Biometrics Society and International Statistical Engineering Association. He has over 20 publications with about 100 citations on the web of science. He is available on GitHub, Kaggle, Google scholar, ResearchGate, academic.edu among other such research sites.

I am a knowledgeable and experienced academic and research scientist with interest to impact students and improving the livelihood and standard of living of neglected groups in marginal environments.  My hands-on experiences and challenges which started at a young age strongly influenced my academic path.
