Dr. Joshua Otieno Agola is a lecturer and researcher at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in the School of Informatics and Innovative Systems. He lectures both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Health Informatics. . He has been involved in the review of BSc (Computer science) and BSc (IT) curriculum for various universities. He is also a supervisor for both Msc and PhD students undertaking their thesis. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology Security and Audit. The PhD thesis focused on the use of Artificial intelligence and optimization algorithms in scheduling patients in health referral systems in a dynamic and secure environment. Master research project was on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Natural language processing. The research was part of the project carried out by The African network for Localization (www.africanlocalization.net) through SCI, University of Nairobi which is a partner. The research project produced an open source spell-checker for Dholuo language using Hunspell Tool.
