Kennedy Vaati Mutuku has training in Agribusiness Management at Undergraduate level Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture at Masters level. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Bioscience Engineering - Socioeconomics at University of Ghent, Belgium.  His current research interest explores the socioeconomic factors influencing the adoption of improved sorghum varieties (ISVs) in Kenya's Lake Victoria Region. His work critically examines how intrahousehold decision-making dynamics impact farmers’ adoption choices, highlighting the interplay of gender, resource allocation, and social norms in agricultural innovation uptake. Additionally, he investigates the role of organizational governance in Rural Producer Organizations (RPOs), assessing how leadership structures, member participation, and institutional support influence the adoption and sustained use of ISVs. His research aims to provide evidence-based insights to enhance inclusive agricultural policies and strengthen smallholder participation in climate-resilient value chains. Other interests include but not limited to Food and Nutritional Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Agripreneurship, Micro Finance, Rural Livelihoods and the Blue Economy.
