Dr. Agumba OJ holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Physics (Condensed Matter Physics
and Material Science) from the prestigious University of Freiburg, Germany, an
M.Sc. Physics (Material Physics) from Kenyatta University, Kenya and a B.Ed science
(Physics & Mathematics) (Hons.) from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He further
holds a Diploma in Computer networking & Engineering from Bell Institute,
Kenya and Diploma in Introduction to Engineering from African Virtual University,
Kenya (KU). Dr. Agumba is a senior lecturer, a senior research scientist and the chair of the department of Physical Sciences at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of
Science and Technology, Kenya. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Pan African
University of Water and Energy Sciences including Climate Change
(PAUWES-Algeria) and a member of Biophysical Society (BPS -Kenya and USA). Dr. Agumba has a
number of publications in internationally reputable and peer reviewed journals. He is a Physics programs developer and reviewer and I he is actively involved in
university teaching, research and community work, efforts that have culminated
into successful supervision of a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students
in the School of Biological, Physical, Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences. Currently, Dr. Agumba is the team leader
of a multidisciplinary Material Science Research Group (MSRG) comprising of Engineers, Physicists, Chemists, Biologists and Computer Scientists where we perform multidisciplinary research together with our collaborators from the University of Western Cape-South Africa and the Laboratoire de Mécanique et d'Acoustique, LMA, France.
Dr. Agumba is a peer reviewer with the Journal
of Engineering Research and Reports from where he has received a number of certificates. At JOOUST, Dr. Agumba is the departmental postgraduate programs coordinator.
