Dr. Francis Odhiambo Akwenda is an accomplished Lecturer of Applied Mathematics at JOOUST. He holds both a PhD and MSc in Applied Mathematics from JOOUST and graduated with a First-Class Honours B.Ed. (Science with IT) degree from Maseno University.
His research interests focus on Dynamical Systems, Mathematical Modelling, and Lie Symmetry Analysis of Differential Equations. He is currently involved in studies on predator-prey models incorporating time delays, harvesting, and functional responses, as well as in developing numerical methods for higher-order differential equations. His work has been published in reputable journals including Results in Control and Optimization and the Pan-American Journal of Mathematics.
With over a decade of teaching experience, ranging from high school to university. Dr. Akwenda has taught a wide array of mathematics courses. He has also successfully supervised MSc students, particularly in ecological and fisheries-based modelling.
In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, he serves as the Departmental Examination Coordinator and actively contributes to curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance workshops.
