OVERVIEW:
Description of the Programme:

The programme is structured to prepare students to cope with some of the recent developments and trends in both the national and global economies. Furthermore, the program reflects the current thinking and direction taken by similar programs by contemporary universities in the region and world wide. The purpose of this curriculum is to produce graduate students who will contribute to the national economic development by applying the skills learned during the program to real life agribusiness development and management situations.

Admission Requirements:

a) Candidates must satisfy the minimum university requirements of mean grade of C+. in KCSE and a minimum of  C+ (Plus) in Biology and Mathematics; C(plain) in any two of the following; Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture, Business Studies and Geography. OR

b) Holders of KACE with two principal passes of which one must be Biology and one subsidiary pass. OR

c) Holders of diploma from any accredited institution.

Programme Learning Objectives (PLOs):

The overall objective of the programme is to produce skilled, motivated and internationally competitive graduates to work in both private and public agribusiness entities.

The specific objectives of the programme are:

a) To develop competence in students in allocative efficiency in resource use and management in the agribusiness industry.

b) To produce students with relevant knowledge and skills in agribusiness development and management.

c) To provide the students with positive attitude and motivation in the agribusiness sector. 



STRUCTURE OF PROGRAMME:

a) The degree shall normally take four academic years of 8 semesters.
